Hola, Bonjour, Hello!
My name is Ana [she/ella/her], and I’m a Venezuelan-Canadian illustrator whose road to making picture books was not linear. It included many fun places and creative stints, like working as an English tutor for preschoolers in my native Caracas, a fancy wedding cake maker in Manhattan, and a graphic designer in Mexico City.
I now live in Toronto with my husband, small daughter, and a silly Boston Terrier named Moe. When not drawing, I enjoy reading grown-up books, baking, and nerding out at pub trivia.
My work is inspired by everyday tiny pleasures. I work in traditional media and firmly believe nothing beats the joy of getting your hands dirty with paint (or cookie dough, for that matter). If you'd like to see more of my work and creative process, you can follow me on Instagram.

To work with me (or perhaps send me pictures of your dog?), you can contact me at anatorostudio@gmail.com or fill out the form on my contact page.
Currently seeking representation for both publishing and surface pattern design work.
